Being Toastmaster, Few tips that I can share with you :
1. Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse as many times as possible. Also try to get the feedback from your loved ones or friends.
2. Try to vary your tone and stress on important words/sentences to grab the attention instead of giving a monotonous speech
3. Try to avoid fillers (like too many so's, and's, if's, also, etc) that distracts the audience
4. Touch various interesting aspects of your life
5. Start with a BANG ;-) I mean grab the attention!
6. Ensure there is a smooth flow between Opening, Body of the speech and Conclusion.
7. Conclude with a positive note.

Also refer the following link that helps you organize & deliver a great speech.

Toastmasters call it as "IceBreaker Speech" in which you're talking before an audience and the subject is "You".

Hi, I am a computer science PhD student at the University of Washington. My research is on mobile device and camera interaction for blind and low-vision people. My goal is to find a usable way for blind people to use the camera on mainstream cell phones to gather certain information about their environment.

I have set up a repository for blind people to submit photos they have taken. You can go here to answer a few questions and submit any photos: http://abstract.cs.washingt.... I am interested in what issues blind people have while taking photos, and excited to see some of the results as I move forward in my research.

sanjukta i knew that i need to put a disclaimer and give the author credit for the story. Actually this was sent to me by my dad and i wrote my post....but when i copied and posted i found that what ever i wrote did not actually come on microsoftword only. Found that there was a bug in the screen reader or i might have used a wrong key stroke....you see i don't get the same feel again so i thought to update with the post some time later and left it....

Any way's thanks a lot for pointing this out....will update with this..

Raghav, one of the first rules of social media. You must put a disclaimer on this post mentioning that you are not the author. I read it and immediately sensed you didn't write it. Then I did a simple google search and found out there are hundreds of posts with this same story and none of them have a disclaimer. Since you don't know who exactly is the author, you can simply say "I found this on the internet and it is not written by me." Hope you don't mind my pointing out this :)
